I’ve already been to the big cities of Montreal and Quebec Cityand, given the fact that we live in NYC, we kind of want to escape that noise, that “hustle and bustle” by spending time in a really charming town. I should mention that I was reading that while the villages of the Eastern Townships are extraordinarily charming, they are also infused with more /21094.txt influence, and we are more interested in something that is prototypically French or French-Canadian.

We enjoy hiking, going to the beach, shopping in quaint stores, and we are most definitely “foodies”, so we small towns near quebec – small towns near quebec experiencing outstanding, local cuisine. I wouldn’t cross the Eastern Townships off your list.

There was originally an early English influence but all the towns are prdominatlely French Canadian now. Great wine route as well. Plenty of quaint riverside villages along the way. Mont-Tremblant would be just at your limit for driving time. The resort is a disneyfied /22659.txt village but you have so much activities and nature in the very close Mont-Tremblant National Park.

You could actually get some lodging in the park and travel to get your share of food and culture.
